Starting my CCIE Journey

I have been so busy over the last few months, I haven’t had much chance to post about certifications and my progress so I wanted to start by giving you a brief update.

Over the last few months I have obtained my CCNA Security and more recently my CCNP Routing & Switching certification. It’s not been easy, nor has it required minimal effort but I worked hard and took my working knowledge along with theory based knowledge to acquire these certifications.

So now I am back… and a few days ago I made the decision along with another work colleague to start the CCIE Security version 5 track. I decided to choose the Security track over the CCIE Routing & Switching due to the simple fact that I work with the Cisco security product portfolio.

So that I am more active in posting new content while preparing for the CCIE, I plan on posting my CCIE Security v5 study notes right here. So if you’re currently looking at taking the same exam, feel free to follow and contribute on my upcoming posts.

Did you pass the CCIE Security exam? How long did it take you to prepare for it? 🙂

Hey Petru, I will be updating my article soon but just to let you know, I have not yet passed my CCIE Security. I spent approximately 1 year preparing and I’ve had two attempts at the exam. I plan on taking it again at some point in the near future.
